Hearing instructor to teach the fundamentals of ASL in beginner and advanced/voice off levels. Enjoy a journey into Deaf culture and learn to sign without offending. This highly regarded program offers students the opportunity to learn ASL with no pressure of exams or homework. Build your skill in the beginner level* or move into a more challenging environment and take part in advanced/voice off class. PLEASE be mindful that the BEST teacher of ASL is ALWAYS a Deaf teacher. This program provides a strong foundation for those who wish to learn ASL and I'm always excited to send my students into the hands of the true experts.....DEAF TEACHERS.
Colleges such as: Northeastern University, Bristol Community College, Holy Cross, and Northern Essex Community College are examples of the finest ASL instruction!
How can this program support your needs?
Not all attendees have the same needs. Some students needs are not consistent with college based programs. Others are searching for a place where they may learn more about the Deaf/deaf people in their lives. A large number of students do not know what their needs are because they have no understanding of the manual language continuum. This program will help students learn the difference between English based signing systems and how they differ from ASL.
Each session is completely different, offering students the option of gaining a great amount of literacy at a beginner level.
